In interview the City’s amenities manager Mr Lisben Chipfunde said the three issues to be dealt with are illegal dumps which have formed across the city, grass and clogged drains.
“The idea is premised on the community-based approach where the stakeholders impacted--- Council, communities and other interested parties like the non-governmental organizations come together and deal with principally the three issues.”
“The city has set aside funds to procure some of the materials and tools required like shovels, gloves and equipment which we are going to hire,’’ said Mr Chipfunde
He said the city is also inviting other willing organizations to help to make Operation Chenesa Harare a success.
‘’We are also calling upon stakeholders, private sectors and non-governmental organizations to come on board and assist in this blitz that is going to run for the next three weeks.
“In some district the activities are happening with regards to dump clearance, drain clearance and grass cutting. However the situation varies from one district to another,’’ said Chipfunde
