Ward 26 residents in Highfields actively participated in the City of Harare’s 2027 Pre-Budget Consultative and Feedback Meeting held today at Zororo Centre. Ward 26 Councillor Maxwell Dutuma hailed residents for their valuable contributions, which included calls for the upgrading of 255th Road, 245th Road and Gumbe Road, rehabilitation of water and sewer pipelines, and a review of council bills and rates. Residents also commended the City’s improved waste management, particularly through its partnership with Geo Pomona, which they said has significantly improved waste collection in the area. Other concerns raised included the cost of medication for the elderly, with residents calling for these issues to be considered in the 2027 budget. Cllr Dutuma also demonstrated his commitment to community welfare by donating wheelchairs to residents living with disabilities, as well as netball and soccer balls to support youth participation in sport.
