Council has embarked on a blitz meant to curb all the illegal activities within the city.
Public Safety Manager Mr Martin Chimombe said Council will be enforcing provisions of Traffic Enforcement by- law (clamping and tow away) of 2005 in an attempt to maintain order in the city.
Mr Chimombe said operation is meant to ensure that all motorists are abiding to the traffic rules.
"We expect people to park within the parking slots and not obstructing traffic as we normally see.
"We are also to make sure that people are using designed ranks for our omnibuses and taxicabs and we would like to see order,” said Chimombe.
Chimombe urged motorists to comply to the traffic rules so that economic activities will not get affected.
"If people are not complying, the worst is coming in the interest of order because without free movement of vehicles our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will likely be in danger .
“People will fail to work because of traffic congestion and that slows economic activities and smooth flow of traffic.
"We appeal to the public to obey our traffic rules and it is in the interest of every member in the society to follow the law," Chimombe said.
