WORKS ATTENDANT
Position Overview
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the above mentioned vacancy in the Distribution Division of Harare Water Department.
Job Purpose
Responsible for Implementing works operations including waste water treatment, pumping waste water effluent to farms, efficient operations of the plant and allocation of duties to shift operators.
Key Performance Areas
• Monitor Waste Water readings from digital meters.
• Daily monitoring of plant, equipment and B,N,R plants.
• Reporting plant breakdowns to the Superintendant.
• Ensuring that there is proper desludging, mixing primary digesters and sludge heating in sludge heater exchangers and recording the temperatures.
• Maintaining the required feed into each into each unit to avoid overloading and under loading of units.
• Supervising thoroughly the collection of both SPOT and COMPOSITE sample.
• Records daily activities carried on the plant in the log book.
• Packing and adjusting of leaking pumps during the absence of filters.
Qualifications and Experience
• National Diploma in Water and Waste Management/Water and Wastewater Operations Certificate (Part 3)
• At least three (3) years working experience at a waterworks or wastewater treatment plant
