SENIOR DEVELOPMENT CONTROL INSPECTOR
Position Overview
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill in the above mentioned vacancies in the Town Planning Division (Development Control Section) of the Department of Urban Planning Services.
Job Purpose
The incumbent will be responsible for enforcing land-use policies to enhance environmental quality in City of Harare’s residential, commercial and industrial areas.
Key Performance Areas
• Recommends and supervises enforcement actions for non-compliant activities. • Receives and documents complaints from ratepayers.
• Carries out follow-up inspections on contentious issues in terms of Regional, Town and Country Planning Act and Urban Councils Act.
• Enforces the Harare Dog and Bicycle Licensing and Control By-Laws.
Duties to and supervises Development Control Inspectors.
Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma in Town Planning/ Administration/Social Sciences or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 ‘O’ levels subjects.
• Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence is a pre-requisite.
• Five years in enforcement or related field.

Compensation
