CHIEF TOWN PLANNING TECHNICIAN
Position Overview
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill in the above mentioned vacancies in the Town Planning Division of the Department of Urban Planning Services.
Job Purpose
Responsible for collection of planning information, records maintenance and preparing reports, plans and drawings.
Key Performance Areas
Examination and appraisal of Layout plans, site plans and section 40 applications.
Preparation of monthly progress reports on Layout Plans for submission to the City Planner.
Training/Coaching and supervision of junior Town Planning Technicians.
Management of the Drawing office.
Procurement of the Drawing office equipment
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Town Planning from a recognized Institution.
Higher National Diploma in Town Planning from a recognized Institution will be an added advantage.
At least 4 years post qualification experience.
Membership of the Zimbabwe Institute of Regional and Urban Planners.
Knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.
Drivers Licence is an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Thorough knowledge of computer software related to mopping and graphics.
