Town Clerk Engineer Hosiah Chisango has appealed for cooperation and patience from stakeholders as council moves to implement resolutions that resonate with the public. He said council employees were motivated to deliver services to the people. Speaking during a meeting with residents‘ representatives at Town House yesterday, Eng Chisango said council was working achieving 75 per cent customer satisfaction by year end. Topping the list is plugging of financial leakages and redirecting the funds towards service delivery and infrastructure development. “Stiff measures are going to be taken against corrupt employees through carrying out audits. We are enhancing our revenue collection. We want all residents owing the city to pay up. The fight against corruption is part of the 2020 targets. Digital bill payment is being strengthened. Eng Chisango said debt recovery was a top priority. Council is owed in excess of ZWL900 million. Council is updating the general valuation roll, exploitation of all revenue streams and complemented by an efficient billing and tariff modelling. "It is in our plan to consider employee productivity in our 2020 plans. We are focusing on manpower utilisation. "Our employees are determined for this year's duty, so we hope that by year end will have reached our target through commitment, integrity and transparency," he said.
