Mayor Jacob Mafume has urged Municipal police officers to shun corruption and respect human rights in the enforcement of by-laws.
Speaking during the Municipal Police Master Parade recently held at Les Brown Swimming Pool, Mayor Mafume said corrupt activities by some municipal officers were soiling the City’s name.
"Grabbing things from the handicapped and defenseless women do not give the city a good picture," he said.
"We have asked your leadership to ensure that there is a human rights training and that our enforcement methods become less colonial," said Mayor Mafume.
