The Mayor’s Cheer Fund board has donated food stuffs and toiletries to Jairos Jiri Southerton and Jairos Jiri Waterfalls.
The Mayor’s Cheer Fund board has donated food stuffs and toiletries to Jairos Jiri Southerton and Jairos Jiri Waterfalls. Mayoress Elizabeth Mafume who presented the donations to the representatives of the homes said the board will continue sourcing for donations to support the underprivileged. Speaking during the donation, the Mayoress said: “This concept creates feelings of gratitude but also encourages a culture of giving that enables sharing of resources with the less privileged in our society.” “Our focus is on the needs of the children and we understand the challenges you encounter. As the Mayor’s Cheer Fund we have put together a few goodies for you. “Giving has done nothing but greatness, I would like to encourage stakeholders to join the Mayor’s Cheer Fund so that we can help make a difference in various homes,” said the Mayoress. She promised the organizations that they will continue looking for other essentials that the children are lacking like tuition funds, stationery and clothes. Jairos Jiri Board member, Mr Christopher Mbanga thanked the Cheer Fund Board for the assistance. Ms Shiela Chiwaridzo who received the donations on behalf of Jairos Jiri Southerton said the school offers education to children who are physically challenged. Ms Chiwaridzo added that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education also assists the two Jairos Jiri Schools. Jairos Jiri Waterfalls Children’s home offers physiotherapy to the children who are physically challenged so as to enable them to do basic daily tasks for instance training them to sit on their own.
