Mayoress Elizabeth Mafume on behalf of Mayor's Cheer Fund board donated 100 boxes each of instant noodles from Nestlea to various children's homes.
Mayoress Elizabeth Mafume on behalf of Mayor's Cheer Fund board donated 100 boxes each of instant noodles from Nestlea to various children's homes. Mayoress Mafume said the Mayor's Cheer Fund board will continue to source for more donations from the corporate sector and various partners . She said City of Harare has the responsibility to alleviate poverty of the vulnerable members in the community . "We are aware of the challenges you face as care givers. Every single day," she said. Mayoress urged members of the corporate sector, individuals and other organisations to come forward and extend a helping hand through the cheer fund board. She added that the board is aiming to continuously donate to the less privileged. Representing various children's home Mercy Mutyambizi of Shungudzevana Trust Children's villages applauded the Mayor's Cheer Fund board for the efforts being made to put a smile on children's faces. Mutyambizi said the donations will take them a long way . "We have a total of 489 children who need food and school fees , " she said . Steven Madzima, Administrator of Hupenyu Hutsva Children's home said the instant noodles donations would provide an nutritious and instant meal for the kids . Amongst those who received the donations is St Joseph house for boys, Harare Children's home, Danai Children's home, Danhiko Project, St Marcellin, Westgate Havern, SOS children's home and Chinyaradzo Children's home.
