His Worship the Mayor Cllr Jacob Mafume has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with his counterpart, the Mayor of Cincinnati Hon. Aftab Pureval at Town House this evening. Other signatories under the MOU are the Acting Town Clerk Advocate Warren Sean Chiwawa, in his capacity as president of Harare Sister City Partnership and his counterpart Zvisinei Dzepasi Mamutse, APRN CNP, in her capacity as president, Cincinnati-Harare Sister City Partnership. The Memorandum of Understanding has been established between the people of Cincinnati (USA) and Harare (Zimbabwe). Their Sister City Partnership rests on agreements between the governing officials of each city and advances peace and mutual understanding through citizen diplomacy in Cincinnati and in Harare. Representatives from Cincinnati and Harare, together with their respective civic organisations, will determine specific plans for cooperation, taking into account the current social and economic circumstances of each city. The parties agree to promote the exchange of ideas and programmes across multiple areas, among them Public Health Talks and Professional Exchange, Youth Education Exchange, Soccer Camp Program and Sports Exchange, Arts and Cultural Programming, Business and Economic Development, Government and Civic Connections, and Tourism. To unlock value for the benefit of residents, the City of Harare continues to leverage on local, regional and global strategic alliances, riding on the mantra of "friend to all and enemy to none.”
