City Health Service Department recently carried out a Covid-19 vaccination campaign targeting school children in the city who had not been vaccinated.
The programme ran from the 6th to the 10th of February.
The campaign targeting children is still ongoing at all local clinics.
Some of the schools visited by the Sunshine News include Glaudina Primary School, Makundano Primary School and Mufakose 3 High School.
City Health’s Sister Aqueline Magande encouraged parents and guardians to get their children vaccinated.
"We urge parents to sign consent forms for their children so that their children can be vaccinated. We are targeting those aged 12 years and above. Only children who had their consent forms signed were vaccinated at schools,” she said.
She encouraged people to follow COVID-19 protocols such as wearing masks at public functions as well as adhering to World Health Organisation (WHO) guildelines aimed at mitigating the spreading of COVID-19.
