Harare City Council has created a Strategic Monitoring Unit tasked with championing the achievement of various departmental goals through providing strategies that improve service delivery.
According to the 1884th Ordinary Council Minutes, the Acting Human Capital Director, Retired Major Matthew Marara reported that the unit’s mandate was to improve the operation of council departments through revisiting work done by various work units.
“The mandate was to visit various work units of council and proffer solutions or strategies for improvement of operations and achievement of goals thereof.”
“The unit would leave for the next section once it was satisfied that the visited unit was capacitated strategically to achieve its goals on it own.”
