Splash Paints and Plastics has donated an assortment of road marking and building paint to Harare City Council complementing the city’s efforts to create a smart city.
The City has been encouraging building owners and other stakeholders to spruce up their properties through refurbishing and repainting in line with its vision to attain a World Class City Status by 2025.
Splash Paints and Plastics managing director Mr Anis Patel encouraged other corporates and residents to complement council’s efforts in cleaning up the city.
“I implore communities to support local products which are not harmful to our environment and are regulated by the Environmental Management Agency and this is important as we have a very crucial role in our City,” he said.
Mayor Herbert Gomba said, “The city is on its 100 day plan and rapid results and we can only do it by refurbishments and repainting.
“This is a mark of a new relationship. I want to thank you for this donation and I encourage other companies to come forward and help us to make sure we collectively work together because this is our City.”
Southerton Member of Parliament Peter Moyo thanked Mr Patel for the partnership urging other companies especially those in his constituency to work together to uplift communities.
Town Clerk Engineer Hosiah Chisango said, “We are very happy with the timely donation. We will put the paint to good use. We will use it to mark some of our roads that were recently resurfaced. Our aim is to start repainting council buildings starting with Town House.”
