Illegal traders at Mbare Musika have heeded Harare City Council calls for order at the busy bus terminus by volunteering to pull down their illegal structures.

Council officials and the local ward councillor Cllr Innocent Maseko recently met with the traders and impressed on them the need for proper urban planning.

There was consensus that disorder should be nipped and that all makeshift structures at the bus rank should be removed.

Yesterday the traders were pulling down their structures in an orderly manner that preserves their building materials and goods in their tuckshops.

Council is now calling upon all other illegal traders who have set up makeshift structures in the suburbs to pull them down in accordance with directives from council.

The City’s campaign to restore order is receiving widespread praise and commendation.
