HARARE City Junior Council has a new executive that was put in office recently at a glittering ceremony at Town House.

 

NIGEL Mharapara was elected the Junior Mayor and will be deputised by Allison Sawadya with Joshua Masanga coming in as town clerk.

The ceremony was attended by Mayor Cllr Bernard Gabriel Manyenyeni, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Dr Paul Mavima, delegates from 70 participating schools and parents.

Said Clr Mharapara soon after assuming office: “I am happy that I have been able to be voted in by my fellow colleagues. It has taken me hard work and determination to be in this seat today”.

He promised to make Harare a child friendly city. He called for team work for the executive to make an impact.

“Together we stand, divided we fall. It is important that we put our minds to reason together”.
