Contacted for comment, the Head for Education and Social Services Mrs Lizzy Muchena attributed the performance to good administrative support, infrastructural developments and financial control.
“Our department has been able to offer schools the necessary infrastructural development at the schools to enable them to concentrate on key deliverables with little trouble,” she said.
Mrs Muchena said council schools will compete for national accolades.
“We are happy with the academic performance of the children and their outdoor activities and I wish they will continue to be like that in the coming years”, Mrs Muchena added.
The top five schools will receive text books as a token of appreciation.
