GARBAGE dump clearance has begun across the city as council implements a raft of measures to liven up the city.
Environment Management Committee chairperson councillor Kudzai Kadzombe toured one of the most affected suburbs, Highfield where council teams had started the dump clearance exercise.
One of the roads was completely closed with waste.
Speaking after the tour Councillor Kadzombe said, "We are going to ensure we give each household refuse bags, and collect refuse consistently."
"On Wednesday we are going to visit a site as councilors so that we have an appreciation of the what it entails to clear a dumpsite. In Highfield the road i visited they had done 42 tipper loads in the 2 days because of compaction a lot of people think there will be little waste but that is not the case," she said.
