All strategic business units under the City of Harare have been given targets as the city moves to gain maximum value from its investments.
Next year all non performing business units will be disbanded.
Delivering his second State of the City address today Mayor Herbert Gomba said: "We have made resolutions that will compel our businesses to have annual targets, to produce monthly management reports, quarterly reports and financial statements".
He said the setting of targets allows the city to monitor the operations of the businesses.
City Parking and Harare Quarry are the operational business units.
City Parking has since remitted ZWL1.3 million to council.
"City Parking funds the beautification of the road islands among other social responsibility initiatives," he said.
Mayor Gomba said Harare Quarry is the lifeblood of road construction hence the council has to supervise its operations through setting targets.
