Harare City Council is keen to showcase the various business opportunities which exist in the city at the Dubai 2020 Expo held in Dubai from October 20, 2020 to April 1, 2021.
Speaking during a meeting with Expo 2020 Dubai Commissioner General Ambassador Mary Mubi, Mayor Cllr Herbert Gomba said Harare will participate at the exhibition to market the Harare brand and lure investors.
“We are working on an urban renewal project in Mbare. Dubai will be a good platform for us to lure investors for the project. It is also a platform for other cities and towns to market their products and attract investment,” said the Mayor.
Mayor Gomba said council will utilize the Expo to attract investors.
The six month’s expo will be running under the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.
He urged Government to review policies that are chasing investors away.
Ambassador Mubi had this to say: "The projects to be showcased should be well documented in a form that gives guidelines to investors and commitment to the interested investors. They should be broken down into smaller projects for investors with specific interests in the project”.
